Building community for a sustainable future. A lecture by James Tree-Gilmore

During this presentation Jim brings over 30 years of experience in creating your own "Sacred Circle", your community. It is through such communities that we will be able to face, and even prosper, the challenges of this amazing time in human history.

Here are a few examples of what we face. This is a recent quote from a NASA scientist, "A major solar storm could cause twenty times more economic damage than Hurricane Katrina,” This warning was given to the National Academy of Sciences in a  report, "Severe Space Weather Events-Societal and Economic Impacts." We are heading into a several years of what could be the strongest solar activity ever recorded.

The recent ecological disaster in the Gulf of Mexico has already changed the way many of us will live, forever. Just as the dropping of the Atomic bomb changed forever how people would live on this planet, this disaster will also change our human experience from now on. Even as horrific as this oil pollution is, we have the tools to change disaster into evolution.
"Building community for a sustainable future" gives us information on how to be able to face the "uncertain times" we are in no matter if the challenges come, be it shifts of society or shifts of the planet itself.

Issues addressed in this presentation include what is the key to building community and what has and what hasn't worked in the past. What have we been told to do to prepare by ancient civilizations. How do we use technology but not depend on it.
